Some older Concert shots by Erik Kabik (1000’s more photos to be scanned and archived in the coming months)
“Many thanks to Grateful Dead publicist, Dennis McNally! Because of Dennis being such a great guy and giving a struggling photographer like me a break, I was able to photograph the Grateful Dead in the early 90’s on many occasions. I started shooting when I was 19 years old while on tour with the Grateful Dead. It was in the orchestra pit at the Oakland Coliseum standing in front of Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Vince Welnick, Bruce Hornsby and Bill Kreutzman where I cut my teeth in the art of concert shooting. I was inspired by other Grateful Dead photographers, like Robert Minkin, Jay Blakesburg and Rob Cohn. Those nights in the Oakland Coliseum in the pit for those 3 song sets are where some of my fondest music and photo moments happened. These are not all the best scans, but they are what I have at the moment….....sorry about the quality and I hope you enjoy!” - Erik Kabik
Grateful Dead, PHISH, Santana, BECK, Rolling Stones, Bad Religion, Eric Clapton, Fiona Apple and More…...
